October 01, 2022
On November 19, 2010, as the world's leading supplier of electronics and technology to passenger cars, commercial vehicles and other market segments, Delphi announced in Shanghai that the Delphi Shanghai Connector System Factory will be built as the world's largest connector production base. Further expand its production scale and R&D capabilities in the Asia Pacific region.
As the world's largest production base of Delphi connector systems, the Delphi Shanghai Connector System Factory, located at the Shanghai International Automobile City Component Export Base, covers an area of 58,000 square meters and mainly produces connectors, terminals, USB connectors, and molds.
Delphi's Shanghai Connector System Factory took the lead in synchronizing R&D and production departments in Shanghai in the early days of its establishment. With its strong local R&D capabilities, rich product layout and high-quality customer service, Delphi began to provide comprehensive services in the early stages of product development. China has now become the world's largest automotive market. This time, choosing Shanghai as the world's largest connector production base is precisely for the purpose of giving full play to its own advantages and developing with the Chinese auto industry.
In recent years, consumers have put forward more and more requirements on the functions of automobiles. If more functions are to be added in a limited space of automobiles, the connectors are required to be smaller and smaller, and more and more signals are required to be transmitted. Therefore, Delphi has been working on the development of integrated, intelligent and environmentally-friendly automotive connector products worldwide.
